Webflow vs HubSpot CMS design freedom vs CRM depth

The short answer

Webflow is the better choice when design quality, page-building speed and cost matter most. You can still use HubSpot for CRM, forms and email. HubSpot CMS is worth it when you need CRM-driven personalization, native attribution and memberships, and you're already paying for HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional or higher.

Many SaaS companies run HubSpot as their CRM and marketing automation platform, so HubSpot's CMS (now part of Content Hub) seems like the natural home for the website. Others pair HubSpot with a Webflow site and keep the two connected through forms and tracking.

We've built and run both setups. The decision comes down to whether the website needs to be deeply tied to CRM data, or whether it needs to be the best-looking, fastest-to-change marketing surface you can build.

Pricing

What each platform really costs

This is the biggest gap. HubSpot Content Hub Professional, the tier with smart content and A/B testing, lists at roughly $450–$500 per month with three seats, and Enterprise at around $1,500 per month. Webflow's Premium site plan is about $25 per month billed yearly plus seats. Pairing Webflow with HubSpot's CRM and Marketing Hub is a common way to get most of the benefit for much less.

HubSpot CMS pricing

Content Hub is sold per seat and per tier, and is designed to be bought alongside the HubSpot CRM.

Free
$0
HubSpot-branded, limited themes and pages.
Starter
~$15–$20 per seat/mo
Custom domain, basic themes, no smart content or A/B tests.
Professional
~$450–$500/mo (3 seats)
Smart content, A/B testing, SEO recommendations, memberships.
Enterprise
~$1,500/mo (5 seats)
Multi-domain, custom objects, serverless functions, advanced permissions.

Professional and Enterprise can carry onboarding fees and are often negotiated, so list price is a ceiling, not a quote.

In detail

Where the differences actually show up

Design and page building

Edge: Webflow

Webflow is a designer's tool: any layout, precise responsive control, rich interactions, and a component system that keeps a large site consistent. Marketers edit content in the Editor without breaking layouts.

HubSpot's drag-and-drop editor works within the modules a theme provides. Marketers like it for building landing pages from approved blocks, but anything outside those blocks needs a developer who knows HubL, HubSpot's templating language. Off-the-shelf HubSpot themes are easy to spot, so most serious SaaS brands need custom theme work.

CRM integration, personalization and attribution

Edge: HubSpot CMS

This is HubSpot CMS's reason to exist. Because the site and the CRM are one system, you can swap headlines and CTAs by lifecycle stage, list membership, country or traffic source, report revenue attribution down to the page, and gate content behind memberships without stitching tools together.

Webflow plus HubSpot gets you most of the way: embedded HubSpot forms, the tracking code for page views and contact timelines, and HubSpot's attribution reporting all work on a Webflow site. What you lose is native smart content and the single-system convenience.

SEO and performance

Edge: Even

Both handle technical SEO fundamentals: SSL, CDN, sitemaps, redirects and editable meta. HubSpot adds content strategy tooling (topic clusters, on-page recommendations) that helps non-specialists. Webflow gives you finer control over markup and leaner pages, which helps Core Web Vitals.

In practice, rankings depend more on content than on which of these two hosts it. Neither will hold you back.

Total cost of ownership

Edge: Webflow

If you need HubSpot's personalization and you're already on Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise, adding Content Hub can be reasonable. If you're buying Content Hub Professional just to host a marketing site, Webflow plus your existing HubSpot account usually delivers a better site for a fraction of the platform cost.

Remember the people cost as well: HubL developers are a smaller, pricier talent pool than Webflow designers and developers.

Decision guide

When to pick each one

Choose Webflow if…

  • Design quality and speed of shipping pages are the priority
  • You use HubSpot for CRM and email but don't need smart content
  • You want to avoid Content Hub Professional or Enterprise fees
  • Your team includes designers, not HubL developers

Choose HubSpot CMS if…

  • You need personalization by lifecycle stage, list or source
  • Native page-level revenue attribution is a must
  • You run gated content or customer portals with memberships
  • You're already on HubSpot Professional/Enterprise and want one system

Our verdict for SaaS

Webflow plus HubSpot CRM for most SaaS teams.

For most SaaS companies, the best setup is a Webflow site connected to HubSpot's CRM and Marketing Hub: better design, faster iteration, lower cost, and full contact tracking. Move the site onto HubSpot CMS only when personalization and memberships are central to your strategy, not because the CRM is already there.
